In a creative piece that would be just about equivocal to Exxon running an ad saying “Hey we didn’t spill the oil this time” Motorola ran a full page ad to promote the Motorola Droid X (exclusively carried on Verizon) touting “No Jacket Required”. This great piece of advertising collateral speaks directly to the Iphone 4 and it’s “Antennagate” problems.

Both Google and developers are probably unhappy with the current copy-protection mechanism that protects apps available in Android Market, so Google is releasing a new licensing service for applications. Created for all paid apps in Android Market (Android 1.5 or newer), the licensing service allows developers to “query the Android Market licensing server to determine the license status of their users.” Google plans to replace the current Android app copy-protection mechanism with the new, safer service in the next few months.
