Droid X, Who Cares!

So who cares what the newest smart phone may be? The cell phone owners that live in Verizon’s bogus green zone reception areas aren’t going to get any better reception with a smart phone than they do with their dumb phones.

I’d love to have a smart phone and would be willing, albeit grudgingly, but willing to pony up the $30 per month data plan if, that’s IF I could get decent cell phone reception where I live.
Some how the Verizon solution of installing a cellular repeater for a couple of hundred bucks so I get a signal where I live, seems to run contrary to their advertisements of their great cellular coverage. I’m far to ornery to spend that money on getting cellular service I’m already suppose to have from my carrier
So I repeat myself, until Verizon truly has great coverage who cares what new smart phone is being released, sob, regardless of how much I might want one.

Google Phone Nexus One: A Revolutionary Discovery

Earlier Apple iPhone has taken part in revolutionizing the telecom industry specially the west and now Google is all set ready and experimentation on its upcoming mobile phone ‘Nexus One’ which will definitely change the way we look at phone. There are rumors in the market that the phone will be manufactured by the Taiwan based HTC which has specialization in High end touch mobile phones.

The phone will work on the Google sponsored android platform which means that anyone can develop a software application for upcoming Google mobile. This is absolutely contrary with Apple App store because here it is compulsory to go from a strict screening and an approval is mandatory from the top bosses before any application will make its way to the consumer iPhone.

The popular blog on technology ‘Engadget’ got access to the exclusively leaked images of Nexus One. The watchers find that in looks the phone is quite similar to Apple iPhone but The Google phone initial attraction is its 3 dimensional look.

Hardware wise the phone has sleek looks and there is not any slew of buttons and the four upfront buttons are obliviously touch sensitive and handset has a dedicated volume rocker along the side

As till date nothing much is revealed by Google so analytics are trying to find out whether the phone will be launched with Goggle navigation and the new Google Goggles. The search engine giant seems to throw its brand behind a device more directly as its objective is to gain access to valuable customer’s data. The data can be used to sell the advertisements at premium prices rather than to make money from direct hardware sales.

Google Nexus One

There has been a lot of rumor as of late regarding the Google Phone aka Google Nexus One. The Nexus one looks a lot like the HTC Eric / Hero. This supposedly is Google’s answer to the iPhone.
Google allegedly will be giving the phones out for free. Yes you heard me correctly. Free!
You might ask, how can they do this? The Google Nexus One will be an unlocked phone that can run on several different networks. You will still need to pay for a monthly service plan for voice and data services, but the device itself will be free. Google plans on keeping a small advertising bar on the bottom and or top of the device that will constantly feed you small, unnoticeable, advertisements. Much like gMail and other Google services. They are hoping (planning/praying) that enough people click on the advertisements to offset the fact that they are giving the device away for free. It’s an interesting concept.
Cnet is reporting that beta invites for the program might go out as soon as January 5. Who will be selected for the program is a completely different story, unknown to anyone but Google. I’m praying that I have the opportunity to test this device. If I do, I’ll be sure to give you guys a full write up/video sergment.
